OpenCall

Privacy

What OpenCall stores about you, which is very little.

Browsing

You don't need an account to search or read listings, and we don't ask for your name, ID number or CV — keeping a CV on your profile is up to you.

Saving without an account

Listings and searches you save without an account are kept in your browser's local storage, with a copy in a cookie so our pages can show them. They're only used to show you your saved items, and clearing your browser data removes them. If you sign in, they're moved to your account and removed from the browser.

Accounts

If you create an account, we keep your email address, your username and a hash of your password, plus the listings you bookmark and the searches you save. We use them only to show you your saved page and to let you reset your password. You can delete your account, and everything saved with it, from your profile's settings — or ask us through the contact page and we'll do it.

CVs and business documents

If you choose to, you can keep CVs on your profile, and details and documents for businesses you bid for (registration, tax, CSD and B-BBEE details and certificates). They're there for you to download when you apply or bid. Only you and OpenCall's administrators can open them — administrators only to help you or to deal with misuse — and we never send them to employers, buyers or anyone else. Deleting a CV, document or business removes it, and deleting your account removes all of them.

Advertising

OpenCall shows ads, some sold directly to advertisers and some from Google AdSense. For our own ads we count how often each one is seen and clicked — numbers only, with no cookies and nothing about you. Google may use cookies to show and measure its ads; we ask it for non-personalised ads, which aren't based on your browsing elsewhere. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Counting visits and searches

To see how OpenCall is used, we count how many times each page is viewed each day, which site linked to it (such as google.com), and what is typed into the job and tender search boxes, with how many listings each search found. These are numbers only: no cookies, no IP addresses and nothing that links a view or a search to you or to your account. We keep the counts for six months.

Messages

If you use the contact form, we receive the email address and message you send, and use them only to reply.

Applications

OpenCall doesn't receive or process applications or bids. When you apply, you're on the employer's or buyer's own site, and their privacy policy applies.
